1 Day - Bucharest: The little Paris of the Eastern Europe

Arrival in Bucharest at the airport. Short visit of the capital, known as “The Paris of East “. The visit includes: the Arch of Triumph, „the little brother” of the one in Paris, the House of Parliament the biggest building in Europe and the second biggest in the world, Calea Victoriei which reminds a little of "Via del Corso" in Rome, the Royal Palace of Cotroceni, the residence of the president of the republic, the beuatiful palace “Ateneul Roman”, the University Square, the Revolution Square ecc.

Dinner in Bucharest in one of the most famous restaurants from the capital, the old Beer Pub "Caru cu bere ".

Overnight in a 3 stars hotel near the historical center.

2 Day: Transylvania - the land of the castles, the fortified citadels and the medieval cities

Sighisoara Sighisoara Sighisoara

In the morning departure to Sighisoara, one of the best preserved inhabited fortress in Europe and also the place where Vlad Tepes was born, in a big house close to the Clock Tower. Here at midnight one of the 7 statues emerges from the Clock Tower. We will pass by Prahova Valley with the medieval city of Brasov.

On the way, stop to visit the fortified church of Prejmer, from 1225, and the beautiful Fortresses of Viscri and Saschiz, preserved since the 15th century, characteristics which determined their inclusion on The UNESCO List of World Patrimony.

We arrive in the evening in Sighisoara, a fortified city, habitated from 1300 till today, surrounded by towers and bastions and strangely also the city where Vlad Tepes was born. Visit of the historical centre with the Clock Tower, from where you will admire the beautiful panorama and the clock's mechanism, the Stairs Passage that will guide us to the oldest school in town etc

Dinner in Sighisoara, in the house where Vlad was born, now became a medieval restaurant, serving bloody specialities.
Overnight in Sighisoara, in a 3 stars medieval hotel, right next to Dracula’s House. You’d better buy some garlic before you go to sleep, just in case…

3 Day: Maramures and going back in the past...

Next destination: Maramures with its points of interest – the agroturistic villages. Here the traditions are still alive, the people always happy is dressed in traditional costumes, the windows, the entrance doors are rich in wood ornaments and the famous wood churches seam to reach the cloudes.

Along the way towards Baia Mare we will visit the beautiful rural villages Budesti, Calinesti and Surdesti ( with the tallest wooden church in Europe – 54m ).Next direction Sighetu Marmatiei passing by Iza Valley and Mara Valley, real open air museums of rural art.
In the evening we will enjoy visiting one of the most interesting cemetery in Europe- the Happy Cemetery in Sapanta.

Diner in an old noble house from Maramures and overnight in a 3 stars characteristic pension in the center of Sighetu Marmatiei.

4 Day: Far away from the Occidental life, from Maramures to Bucovina

In the morning we will continue our journey in this fairytale land of Maramures by visiting the old frescos and icons of Bogdan Voda and Ieud churches with their characteristic tall, slim clock towers, of which the last one Ieud is the oldest one in Maramures (from 1364). Next direction Bucovina “the land of 2000 monasteries”.

The monasteries Voronet, Sucevita, Moldovita, Humor, with their painted exterior walls,each one with its dominant colour, decorated with 15th- and 16th-century frescoes, are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art and are unique in Europe (part of UNESCO’s patrimony) . With their paintings representing complete cycles of religious scenes, they were a real Bible for the alliterate people.

Arrival in the evening in the heart of Bucovina, where a special dinner with home made dishes is waiting for you.
Overnight in Bucovina, in a 4 stars rural complex, situated near the famous monasteries.

5 Day: The painted monasteries of the UNESCO's patrimony

Whole day dedicated to visiting the painted monasteries of Bucovina.

The Moldovita Monastery from 1532 build by Petru Rares is depicted both interior and exterior paintings, as the "Siege of Constantinople", "Holy Virgin's Prayer" or "Jesse's Tree". Like dominant note of colour, Moldovita has a sunny yellow.It’s the biggest church raised during the Moldavian style.
The Sucevita Monastery built as a fortified monastery is the last monument in Stephen’s style, the exterior paintings date from 1596 and green is the dominant background color.
Afterwards we visit Humor Monastery, dating from 1530, that has red as dominant colour.
The last one and the most beautiful is Voronet Monastery, founded in 1488 by the ruler Stephen the Great.It is also named the „Eastern Sistine Chapel” and the dominant colour is the famous „blue of Voronet”. After lunch we will also take part of a live representation – a well known tradition from Bucovina – the eggs’ paiting.

6 Day: The virgin nature of Moldavia

In the morning we will see the Suceava Citadel, where Stephan the Great,one of the most beloved principles of Moldavia, died. We will also visit a very different monastery – Dragomirna Monastery. The we go straight to the Bicaz area the road seems to loose itself in the beauty of nature. At Bicaz you will admire a nature's wonder, Cheile Bicazului ( Bicaz Quay ), unique in Romania. Here we will have a stop to buy typical souvenirs from Moldavia.

Next destination is the medieval city of Brasov. Visit of the city (the Black Church, the Council Square, the Old quarter Schei, the Caterina Gate that separated the Rumanians from the Saxons).

Dinner in one of the most traditional restaurants in Romania, where the house speciality is mix of bear, deer, wild boar in a red salsa.
Overnight in Brasov in a 3 stars medieval hotel in the historical center.

7 Day: The castles of the Prahova Valley

We continue our adventure with the famous Dracula’s Castle in Bran, known all over the world for its guest - Vlad Tepes - who used it as headquarters for his incursions into Transilvania. For the Romanians the castle is famous for its beloved guest - the Queen Maria - who loved spending the summers at this "small and pugnacious fortress" (Queen Maria).

Afterwards departure to Rajnov, a fortified Saxon citadel from the XIIIth century.
Next stop - Prahova Valley with its winter resort Sinaia, “the Pearl of the Carpathians”. Here we will visit the most important Romanian castle - the Peles Castle - built in German style during the king Carol I de Hohenzollern (end of the '800s ) and the Pelisor Castle, built in the earlies of '900 for Ferdinand and his wife Maria, who decorated it in art nouveau style.

Arrival in Bucharest in the evening and special dinner in a Romanian restaurant with folklore music.
Overnight in a 3 stars central hotel.

Conditions

The prices are for groups consisting of 14 persons.For less/more than 14 persons taking part in the tour, the price will be recalculated and the tour can be arranged after.
Our tour is personalized, flexible, depending on our clients' wishes, the programs can be extended with extra nights, the itinerary can be changed according to your proposal.The programs are operating starting with minimum 2 persons.

The payment of the tour

50 % of the total amount has to be paid in advance by money transfer to confirm your reservation 4 weeks before departure.The rest of the total amount is to be paid here, at the moment of the arriving in Romania.

Cancellation

In the case of cancellation of the tour, not later then 2 weeks before departure, the paid tour fee will be refunded, with the exception of 50 EUR for administrative costs
