In her book Emily Gerard after having been in Transylvania says: "More decidedly evil is the nosferatu, or vampire, in which every Romanian peasant believes as firmly as he does in heaven or hell." (The Land Beyond The Forest, published 1888)
In this TOUR OF DRACULA you will follow the traces of Vlad the Impaler known by everyone as Dracula, see the house where he was born in Sighisoara, pass through the cities where he has left behind, in agony thousands of enemies impalled and hang, see the capital of Wallachia, Targoviste and the capital of today, Bucharest-name given by Vlad himself.
We will also see the ruins of the Poienari Castle, from where Dracula's wife killed herself by throwing herself in the Arges River.
You won't miss the cities Brasov and Sibiu,the most beautiful medieval cities of Romania, linked with the Impaler's name,then Medias city with his famous tower where Vlad was kept prisoneer, then the Bran Castle, used as a fortress, reaching in the end the real Dracula's Castle in a mysterious land,near Tihuta Pass.
Here in Bram Stoker's novel, in the end, Dracula is killed and from that moment his spirit never finds its peace. Even if in the end of the tour you will see the place where Vlad the Impaler was burried, on an island in a center of the lake Snagov,after years his body wasn't found there anymore...
So his spirit goes on, so as the legend of Dracula...
1st Day – Arrival in Bucharest - name given by Vlad Tepes himself. Welcome to Dracula's country.The story begins.

Arrival in Bucharest – transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Sightseeing tour of Bucharest by night including: the Triumphal Arch (Arcul de Triumf) the little brother of the one in Paris, the Parliament’s House ( Casa Poporului) the biggest building in Europe, and the second in the world, Victoria Avenue remembering you of Via del Corso of Rome, the Royal Palace, the presidens’ residence, Dambovita Quay with the beautiful Palace of Justice, the impressive Military Academy, Universitatii Square, Revolution Square etc.
Dinner in an interesting restaurant called "Count Dracula" where you will be surrounded by torches, skulls, old paintings in a mysterious atmosphere and eat Dracula's specialities.
Overnight in Bucharest in the city center, in an old stylish house.
2nd Day - Transylvania, Dracula's land and visit to the princely court in Targoviste

In the morning departure to Targoviste, the capital of Wallachia during Vlad Tepes..
The first princely court was built by Mircea cel Batran, Dracula's grandfather. Then Dracula himself added the tower "Turnul Chindiei".
Targoviste reminds us of the day when the boyards were called at a feast in the city and asked if they wanted to be released from the difficulties of life. As the answer was affirmative, Vlad burnt them all, so none of them won`t suffer anymore.
We continue with Curtea de Arges, a small city with a big legend ( Manole's legend about the supreme sacrifice ) known all overt the world.
In the afternoon we go on with our trip to Poienari Fortress, built by the boyards, the lucky ones, who treaded Dracula.The others were impaled.
The Poienari Castle also reminds us of Dracula's first wife who committed suicide by leaping from the towers of this castle into the waters of the Arges River.
Next direction: Sibiu, the charming mediaeval city in the middle of the Carpathian Mountains. During Dracula's reign he had important commercial relations with this city.Sibiu was the Capital of Culture in 2007. Visiting its attractions you will be able to see why...

3rd Day - We arrive at Dracula's house
In the morning visit of the historical center of Sibiu.The visit includes:The Breckenthal Museum (opened before Louvre in Paris), the Staires Passage, the Big Square, the Little Square, the Huet Square, the first Romanian school, The iron bridge...ecc
Departure to Medias. Here you will have a sightseeing tour, admiring the Tower (Turnul Trompetilor) where Vlad Tepes is said to have been kept prisoneer.
Then we arrive in Sighisoara, the town where Vlad the Impaler was born. The house, near the Clock Tower, still exists today and it's a restaurant.
Dinner in this Dracula's restaurant, the place was Vlad was born. His spirit is in the air.
Overnight in Sighisoara, in a 3 stars hotel, medieval style, in the center of the citadel.
4th Day - the top point of the tour, the real Dracula's Castle located in a wild nature, castle that was seen in Francis Ford Coppola's film, "Dracula"
In the morning visit of the historical center of Sighisoara, inhabited from the XIIIth century until today.
Departure to Biertan Citadel, a typical exemple of fortress-church-family, one of the 300 fortified churches built from the XIVth to the XVIth century in Transylvania. Biertan is a small medieval village which has its own mystery, known only by his habitants. The Gothic Church in the center built on a top of a hill has inside a beautiful organ. There are 3 entrances in the church, the North one has 19 locks. The citadel impresses with its triple walls, 6 towers and 3 bastions, being remarked in the international expos.
Afterwards departure to Bistrita. Here we enter the real Dracula's land. No other place is so easily identified with vampires, phantoms and bloody scenes as Bargau, Tihuta pass which links Transylvania with Moldavia.
This was the wild and mysterious location chosen by Coppola for his film"Dracula".
Overnight in Dracula's Castle, the hotel that was build on the ruins of the real Count Dracula's Castle.In Bram Stoker's film, here Vlad the Impaler finds its death. Even so, his spirit never finds its peace.
5th Day - Moldavia and its virgin nature, the Bicaz Quay and the Red Lake

In the morning departure to Bicaz passing through Vatra Dornei, where the road seems to loose itself in the beauty of nature. At Bicaz you will admire a nature's wonder, Cheile Bicazului ( Bicaz Quay ), unique in Romania. Here we will have a stop to buy typical souvenirs from Moldavia.
In the afternoon we continue our trip to Brasov, the most beautiful mediaeval city in the Prahova Valley.

6th Day - The Dracula's Castle in Bran, used as a fortress to protect the city of Brasov is not the real Dracula's Castle, yet is the most known

In the morning you will have a sightseeing tour of Brasov, including the Black Church, the First Romanian School, St Nicholas Church.We will also admire the whole panorama from the Tampa Hill.
In the past, in his campaign against the merchants from Brasov, Vlad burnt the city and impaled them on the hills around.
Then we go straight to the Dracula's Castle in Bran, built on the top of a rock. Vlad used this castle as headquarters for his incursions into Transilvania. Here we can buy souvenirs and spend the rest of the day in Dracula's land.
Arrival in the capital special dinner in a traditional restaurant in Bucharest.
Overnight in Bucharest in a 3 stars central hotel.
7th Day - going back home. End of story

In the morning we will visit the Old Princely Court (Curtea Veche) with the Treasury Vaults. Then we will go straight to the Snagov Lake, near Bucharest where in the middle we will see a small island and the Monastery Snagov where Dracula's body was buried in 1476.
In 1930 the research of the archaeologists only discovered some horse bones.
Where is his body?It seems that Dracula has never found his peace...
